AS Kang's
Dil De De

As you heard before from me, in the review of Jazzy B's Tera Roop... to keep an eye on next Sukshinder Shinda's project "Dil De De" by A. S. Kang. Well the album is all here; fans too had been waiting for Kang's next venture as he recreated the storm once again through "Aish Karo". A. S. Kang is one of those artistes who had survived in this industry since a long time. His classics such as Gidhean Di Raniye, Main Aashiq Tera, Lambran Di Nooh, are still greatly appreciated. Well what does Kang have on this new offering "Dil De De" ?? Well that's what the review is all about...

The first track you listen to, you hear the vibe and storms in the sounds of tumbi, dhol, which gives a signal of "dance-floor" item. The track is certainly which suites Kang's style, and its one of the highlight of the album. However, the production seems bit similar to Jazzy B's "Tera Roop" and "Bach Ke", on this track.

"Mummy Main Bhangra Pauna, Main Boliyan Sunniyan, Kang Diyan" yes, you have guessed it right, as the kid in the beggining with his cute voice tells you about what to expect on this track 2. It's Kang back on keeping his trend alive. And what's that? Punjabi Boliyan. So this time boliyan is all about "Punjabiz", i.e. expressing their likes, etc. The track is pretty good, but nothing much new here, as its the same old vibe of Kang's boliyan, might have worked more if new rhythm was created.

Track 3, kicks off with HMC, if HMC, it probably gives the hint of a garage track. Dil Mangda changes the flavour of the album to a fine garage tune. It's another excellent track, a fresh chilled out beat track. But isn't much noticed throughout by people.

If you loved the track Pyar Karde Aa on the album Aish Karo, then this is the track, which you are looking for. Yup, a slow mellowed track, Pyar Di Chog. A very new sound added to this song. Overall, it's a relaxing-type song, without any "shor-shraba".

Following Nachna Punjaban Da, track 5, which is a typical Kang style. It's a track keeping up the pace of the album to its level. The music reminds of old tracks by Sukshinder Shinda, its seems as if the old formula of Sukshinder Shinda which is being brought back to life. That's a good sign, because such sound is lost these days, such tracks looks very original and leaves the listener satisfied.

Next onto track 6, we got Vela, which is something similar to Aish Karo in terms of lyrics, giving a lesson on life. The track is one of the best, on the album. However people have criticised it as typical Shinda production.

Next we got Tappe, with a very unusual music, such music is hardly used for Tappes, but Sukshinder Shinda knew what he was doing, as this seems something very fresh by Kang. A proper "Indi-Pop" track.

Patt Taa is another bhangra track. People widely have appreciated it greatly but also accused it of being very similar to typical Shinda's production. Well whatever it is, but is a killer.

Gabru, when you read this title, you might have thought its a Bhangra track, but eh-eh, its a sad song, a very unusual sad song.. its a not romantic tragedy but about losing humans who are very precious to you, and lyrics requests God, to keep all of the family members alive. Its a great track, but surely enough many people would skip it as "ohh not the sad one" but the tune could very precious to someone who have went through such experiences.

Finally, its the title track. Dil De De, is closing up the album. The track features MC Lyca, he had done a great job, and it isn't that typical MC'in. Plus MC'in is limited throughout, not overflowed. As with the track overall, its a good mellow tune.

That was the end of the show. At first, when I heard the album I didn't much positive response towards, and took it as a normal offering. Maybe, it was because as critics said it was too similar to the production of Jazzy B's Tera Roop. People have been accusing Sukshinder Shinda of similar production and took this album. But, as I was about to review this album, and went over each track and didn't skim through, I found alot out of it. People have been just criticising over one track Chan Ke, that was all. The album has alot to offer, so I believe most of the people skimmed through the album as I did before. So my advice is to go over each track and see you will find alot out of it. Sukshinder Shinda did a good job, but just made one little mistake by making the production "abit" similar to Jazzy B's Tera Roop, that was all. Overall, I would give this album 7 out of 10. Now all we got to do is to wait till May, for next Sukshinder Shinda's album. Currently, he released Madan Maddi's solo "Break It Through", lets see what he got there...
