Nav Sarao's
Fast And Furious

Nav Sarao!! The name looks pretty new to the industry but as people are aware the person has offered very new stuff on the debut release! A very impressive reaction has been achieved for this album throughout, even I am impressed with his work, since its his first album and its a hit to a certain group where it was aimed! The album also features UK's very own Punjabi Hit Squad and the team of Metz n Trix.

The album starts off with the song Putt Jattan De sang by Soni Pabla and it features MC'ing by Metz n Trix. The song has the same lyrics, as everyone is familiar with massive Surinder Shinda's Putt Jattan De!! The tune as produced by Punjabi Hit Squad has been a big hit throughout!

Raj Brar (Aidi Tu Ki Zaildarni fame) is next with the tune Ghaghara Gulabi Rang Da. The song is done in a desi manner with Dhol and stuff, nothing like "Garage" is influenced over this tune. While the album has a later taste of the song later on!

Punjabi Hit Squad back on the track with the remix version of Boliyan by various artists. The tune is not bad; it's controlling the album so far! The lyrics are pretty good too! The song hasn't received much attention overall though but I'd have to say it's a good tune.

Followed by Gori Diya Jhanjaran by Asha Chabra. It's a remix of Parkash Kaur's original track. She has a wicked voice, and the track is cool once again!

Punjabi Hit Squad for the last time featuring on this album with the massive hit Hasdi Hasdi. They have done great job once again. This song has some top lyrics and Bobby Dorka's kills it with the vocals, she's definitely one to watch out for in the future, as her voice is just amazing. The hit squad have added a guitar effect to her beautiful voice and the result is a class tune for us all.

Another classic tune titled "Gandasa" sang by Amarjit Sandhu. The tune has the same lyrics of the tune Eh Mit Kise De Naal sang by Surinder Shinda from the album Ucha Burj Lahore Da (Surinder Shinda's debut release). As I have seen the tune didn't achieve much attention but personally this is my favourite track from the album! It's just my type of song.

Amarjit Sandhu is back again in a row with the tune Mohabatan. The track is average, its ok not bad either! The tune might be appealing to some people but I didn't really like it all that much, maybe because I am not into slow music and this is exactly that.

Boliyan (the same track which was featured before by Punjabi Hit Squad) is on the list again but linked to Nav Sarao's production. The track is good! I think this track is more appealing than Punjabi Hit Squad because the track is total desi and Nav has shown us the total desi way on it!

Amarjit Sandhu once again, singing Gora Mukh, the track is again excellent! Good production, everything goes fine no over-production or so!

Massive Hasdi Hasdi again with a new style. The competition is tough here as both versions are very good. This version is damn good as well, so it's for you to decide which one is the best but if I had too choose one I'd say the hit squad mix is better but the choice is yours.

Ghaghara Gulabi Rang Da, the D'n'B mix of Raj Brar's vocals, probably has been the leading tune of the album, as the video is has been shot for this song!

Darapuria with the only song 'Mela' appears on the album, the tune is alright, it had convinced many people but I didnt really like the track at all because all it has is "Mele Vich Nachi Pabba Paar" repeating again and again. Although the production is fascinating the song could have been less repetitive.

Gora Mukh, its the D'n'B mix this time, both tracks are completely different and its quiet impressive. The vocals, as we are familiar is by Amarjit Sandhu.

Putt Jattan De again, it's Nav Sarao's version this time. Soni Pabla impresses me again with his voice, in my opinion sings the song very well! Personally I admire Hit Squad Mix more because it has the desi touch as after all, it's a desi song!

As for the first time effort, this album was excellent. I am sure there is more to come from Canada's own Nav Sarao. All I can say is well done to the Toronto-based 22-year-old producer who is guaranteed to make his mark on the Asian music scene worldwide. The album gave us 9 tracks plus 5 remixes (3 by UK based Punjabi Hit Squad), so all in all a mammoth 14 tracks on the album! Another fascinating thing is that all the mixes of same song have been completely different in style with little similarity at all, while we have seem some albums with almost same kind of mixes just adding few loops over the same track. So overall I would I rate this album 8/10, so if you haven't bought this album already then I suggest you buy a copy as it gives excellent value for money with a great diversity in music with everything from traditional desi to romantic music included. Finally, a big well done to the Hit Squad for the sheer effort on the promotional side with this release in the UK, as Irfan assures me that it has been very well advertised.
