The team behind the massive club and UK hit album "Pure Garage" is back with "Pure Garage 2". And man, I tell you, this is definitely the remix album of the year so far.
The massive garage and two-step hindi remixes are slightly taking over the Desi club scenes all over Europe, not to mention the UK islands. Since the release of the successful album "Pure Garage" from Don Dee, Dj's around the UK have released their albums rapidly. Dj's like Dr.Zeus, Dj Swami and Tappe to mention some of them and the Djz are growing. We're not talking about the poor DJ's like Jiten and DSNY (The new team), the new generation of DJ's are hungry!
Now, back to the album. "Pure Garage 2" is released due to the heavy success of their recent album, the massive boom-blaster "Pure Garage". Behind the table was Don Dee in the first album, now he has got help from Richie Rich(Rishi Rekhi). The sound, which is two-step and garage, is very well created by the team. Each song got it's own little genuine sound. The album contains 9 songs plus the intro.
Song 2, "Muhnde (Shava Shava)". The obligatory punjabi song is must in Don Dee productions. This song is very similar to their recent punjabi hit with Sonu Nigham in Pure Garage - "Nava Cha". This song is very well remixed and the vocal match the melody very well. The MC, Don Dee of course, do the rapping in this song and I must say that he's kind of a annoying with his rapping. But besides that, the song is very well done, especially the two-step sound and the soft piano.
Song 3, "Tere Dar Par" - Kavita Krishnamurthy . "Tere Dar Pe" is a very good tune if you like Kavita soft of songs remixed with a soft piano. This song has a piano which follows the Kavita all the way she sings her only words, "Tere Darpe" and "Chaale ayi..". And once again, Richie Rich and Don Dee is very annoying with their rap. Can't remix guruz realise that rap doesn't mix so good with garage sound?..Well....
Song 4, "Mein Cheez Badi Hu Mast, Mast" - Mohra. The Super hit, "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast" is back! And no, this is not a bad Dj Jiten remix, this song is more powerful than that. This song is a great mix of garage and house. The female vocal is very well mixed in the very fast song, I suspect that this remix is a bit over 100 Bpm!. And yes, once again Don Dee anoys with his rapping. But if you don't mind the rappin', This song is the BOMB...
Song 5, "C-H-A-N-A". This unknown male singer must be the best male vocal singer that the indians in the UK have produced. A indian "Craig David". This song contains soft hindi r'n'b mixed with soft garage. This song reminds me of Stereo Nations songs, the soft "turn over " from hindi to english. This song is one of the greatest that Don Dee have produced and remixed. I suspect that he will use this kind of songs in his future albums.
Song 6, "Boliyan". I must admit that this song is one of the weakest points of this album. The boliyan contains a mix of various punjabi songs. The sound is ok, sometimes a dhol-beat comes in the song. The male vocal is good, the overall song isn't! and for once there isn't any rappin' in this song!....well....
Song 7, "Kheta Hai Pal Pal", Major Saab. The sound is good, the male vocal is very good, the table scratching is good. This song is typical Don Dee production. Very well done boyz....
Song 8, "Odhli" - Kumar Sanu. The best song of the album. Hardcore garage meets Kumar Sanus soft vocal and for once I like the rappin' of Don Dee and Richie Rich. Although the song is for the club, this song can also be played in your bedroom just for chillin' a bit!.
Song 9, "Dhere, Dhere" - Kumar Sanu. The last song on the album. This song is pretty good although it lacks in scratching and mixing. But this song is very soft to listen to. I'll say that this is the weakest point in the album. |
