Recently, Azeem from the USA had the pleasure of interviewing one of the up coming stars from Canada, it's Exsentrik's which is a new up and coming group ready to take the world by storm with their mixes. The group consists of Raman & Raj so watchout for them cuz trust me, they know their stuff.

Azeem: How you come up with that name Exsentrik?

Exsentrik: We were sitting around one day listening to some tracks we were workin on and thinking of a name for the group. We wanted to have a name, which we could use for the Asian Industry and something for the mainstream industry so we wouldn't have to change when we release our mainstream album. We were original goin to be call Tantra, but that wasn't panning out because it was to sexual. One of my close friends Ruby Zennat was listening along with us and she was describing the music as being different and well exsentrik. It hit us just like that, so we decided with EXSENTRIK.

Azeem: Did you have support from your parents/family with your music career? Exsentrik: Oh ya definitely, when my parents/family found out we were serious about this they were behind us 100% Percent. Azeem: What are your favourite types of music? Exsentrik: I listen to everything from Rock, to Hip Hop to Bhangra to classical. As long as it sounds good i listen to it. One of my personal favourite groups are the POLICE. Man o man, Sting on vocals and Andy Copeland on drums, which

was a tight group! For Punjabi singers no one can beat Malkit for his smooth voice and Sardool for his skills. Oh and the Man Sukshinder Shinda.

Azeem: When you not doing anything on the music front, what are you doing in your spare time?

Exsentrik: Every waking moment I'm doing music! If not making music then I'm usually at the gym or playing on my playstation2. GRAND THEFT AUTO 3 RULES!!!!!!!!!

Azeem: If you could use one word to describe yourself, what would that word be?

Exsentrik: EXSENTRIK!!!!!!!!

Azeem: It has been said by many that there are alot of desi music artists in the USA that are nothing more than average, what makes you any better than the norm? Exsentrik: Well i wouldn't say that its average, I actually think its better than that!!! The North America style of music has its own flavour and style just like the UK and India has its own flavour, you really can't say one is better than the other its like comparing apples and oranges. Azeem: What should we expect from you in the near future? Exsentrik: Well we are releasing our first debut self titled album in a few weeks, check it out in any desi store near

Feb 2003 we are releasing a compilation album called Exsentrik Mixes with singers from Vancouver, such as Rick Mann, Sam Sidhu, myself Raman Hara, Pamma and a couple of mainstream Rap/R&B artists including Raj Hara aka TANTRIK, AK and Haities. You folks should keep and eye out for them there close to signing a mainstream hip deal " KNOCK ON WOOD". June 2003 were releasing our second album Exsentricity with myself, Raman Hara and Raj Hara.
