Recently, Farkhandah had the pleasure of interviewing one of the best up and coming stars on the desi fusion scene at the moment, namely 'Kami K.' He is the man behind the production of 'The Way Of The Nak' plus contributed considerable to the album 'NRG' which is proving to be doing very well at the moment.
Farkhandah: How did you get into the music industry, basically how did it all start for you?
I started as a DJ and then went on to produce a few underground mix tapes with The NAK. From there it progressed to producing artists and the rest is history.

Farkhandah: I heard your latest production on NRG. What was your contribution on that album? What makes this album any different to the average bhangra release these days?
Kami K: Producing 4 Tracks for the album was a challenge especially when developing a new sound based around the pop scene. The album has been produced by three other producers therefore giving it a varied and unique sound.

Farkhandah: Which colour best describes you and in what way?
Kami K: All colours. I like to think I have something of each to offer. |
Farkhandah: About the war on Iraq. Do you think it should go ahead? What can we do to stop it?
Kami K: I think there are issues to be resolved but feel that going to war is not a solution. Innocent civilians are the victims of war and then there is the ultimate threat of nuclear war, nobody wants that.
Farkhandah: What song/lyrics/piece of music would you say best describes your life?
Kami K: I don't feel any single song or lyric best describes my life but feel more connected with Hip Hop because I feel it represents the 'streets'
Farkhandah: What is the meaning of life?
Kami K: Happiness

Farkhandah: If you could make one wish what would you wish for and why?
Kami K: World peace.
Farkhandah: Is your hairdo natural or did you get it done in the salon?
Kami K: I think you may be referring to |
|
the guy in the video (Mits) with the afro, that's not me. |
Farkhandah: If you were given a million pounds, what would you do with it?
Kami K: Run
Farkhandah: What advice would you give to those trying to achieve success in this field?
Kami K: Be persistent in what you want to do because it's not easy, so be dedicated and true to yourself. Don't give up your daytime job!!
Farkhandah: Who would you say has been the biggest inspiration for you?
Kami K: My SL1210's
Farkhandah: If you could change any aspect of your life or do anything differently, what would that be?
Kami K: Would not change anything because I am pleased with the way my life has progressed.
Farkhandah: What should we expect from Kami K in the near future?
Kami K: This year should see the release of a new album and also some collaborations.
Farkhandah: Do you have any final words for the thousands of desitunes4u visitors spread all over the world?
Kami K: Keep it real.
That concludes the interview, firstly a big thanks to Kami K for taking some time out to do the interview.
