Recently, Suhail hooked up with Marko from the USA. Marko is a very talented RnB singer who is of Bengali origin and he resides in Texas. He's all set to take the scene by storm.

Suhail: Marko, for all of the desitunes4u.com readers; tell us a bit about yourself.

Marko: I am an R&B singer from the Durdy Durdy South putting it down with the ShoNuff Beats camp.

Suhail: How did you get into the music industry?

Marko: I've been grindin for years man, now the industry is peepin' me out and checkin' my skills.

Suhail: Your style of music is very RnB based with a unique style of vocals, how much influence has the Asian music scene played in developing this style.

Marko: I'm an Asian Indian of Bengali origin so that's who I am and always will be; now I'm putting out some MarkoMusic for y'all to peep out. I have some experience singing some Bengali stuff, so that's a part of my background.

Suhail: Your latest track 'Hey Naah!' your biggest hit to date has an RnB / Hip-Hop vibe to it also has a distinctive Asian beat in the background where did the idea and inspiration come from?

Marko: My executive producer, Sho 'Nuff, put that beat down. She knows how to put out a fire beat that compliments my singing style. She's on another level.

Suhail: The track also features the1shanti how did this collaboration come about?

Marko: the1shanti saw me perform and was like woah. As you know he the biggest Asian rapper in America and run with every crew on the street. Now were tite, tryin to put down something hot for y'all.

Suhail: The single, 'Hey Naah!' when is that due to out in the USA? Will it come out in the UK, if so when?

Marko: It's out on limited release with ShoNuff Beats in the US right now. Its gonna be out real soon on a couple compilations in the UK that y'all can peep.

Suhail: So will we be seeing more collaboration with other American artists such as the 'Dum Dum Project'?

Marko: No doubt man. Expect to see Marko collabos with DDP and other key playas.

Suhail: You have given the UK desi scene a taste of your style of music. What has Marko got install for us in the future?

Marko: We jus tryin to keep it unique. Somethin y'all can bump to in your ride and in the clubs.

Suhail: Have you got any plans to tour the UK?

Marko: We gonna come out and see the folks out there. LMGI will hook it up.

Suhail: RnB has been goin from strength to strengh both in the states side and the uk why do you think rnb continues to be unstoppable in the marketplace?

Marko: R&B always brings some unique flava to the table and its always changing man. There are always different types of music bein put down by different artists from different parts of the States, and the world. Being so close to hip hop most definitely keeps R&B fresh. It ain't like pop music cause that don't change with the times.

Suhail: Do you think the Asian flava can ever be as big as that of the RnB scene?

Marko: People always trying new things in R&B so there is no doubt a lot of potential for anything fresh to come out and change the game.

Suhail: As a desi american what is the scene like out there? Is it as big as it is over in the UK?

Marko: I don't know if it's bigger or not since I ain't been out there to UK yet myself. We reppin strong out in America. I been doin desi shows non stop and when Sho 'Nuff & the1shanti put they names on my project I started gettin love from the black and white crowds on the streets just as much. It's a unique thang we putting down. In the last year I have been taken from bein local to global.

Suhail: Theres been a lot of interest and hype going round regarding your origin being Texan Bengali! How does that make you feel?

Marko: Haha, that's just me man, just who I am. Texas is a part of me, being Bengali is a part of me. So if people are feelin that, hey much love to em.

Suhail: How often if at all do you go back to Calcutta / Bengal?

Marko: Been back a few times and hopefully I'll be back soon to give the peeps out there some MarkoMusic. Much love to the killa Cal!

Marko: Bricklane kamon acho thomra! Ami besh bhalo. Neeshchooey London ey ashthey chai. Neeshchooey Bricklane ey eshey thaka korbo.

Suhail: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Marko: I'm gonna stay grindin man and take it day by day and see where this game takes me. As long as I'm breathin I'll be straight.
