CD 1 Review by Irfan
After the success of Dance With You (Tere Naal Nachna) it's now time for Jay Sean to release his solo debut single 'Eyes On You' still part of the Rishi Rich Project.
Eyes On You, what can I say about this tune, the 1st time I listen to it I instantly thought 'what a tune.' The 'catchy chorus' will have you miming to this one in no time at all. The lyrics, which were written by Jay himself, are just amazing and give the tune a more 'real' feel. Juggy D, with his now mandatory guest appearance role is firing the Punjabi lingo in his usual super cool style. Rishi Rich on production provides some next level R & B beats fused with his unrivalled original desi music making it sound so damn good it's unreal. In my view superstar status for Jay Sean is not a vision or possibility; it is destiny. This debut song will be the stepping-stone for big things to come from the immensely talented Jay Sean.
The 2nd song, which is commonly known as B-side of the single, is 'Me Against Myself.' The track is his way of answering his critics by putting up Jay Sean 'Rapper' (the critic) up against Jay Sean 'R & B singer' (answering back). It's a unique idea so it gets 10 out of 10 for originality. I mean the thought of someone dissing themselves on there own track is unheard off so all credit must go to Jay for this. Does it work? Oh yes! Considering the fact that there 'ain't no chorus' it just flows really well. It pulls off its desired mission of answering the critics in style. It's got a funny side to it as well lyrically; if you are not laughing at this then you probably don't posses a sense of humour. Mentor is present to provide the production on this one and he does not disappoint as he keeps the background music to a minimum while still keeping with the flow thus enabling Jay's vocals to shine through.
CD 1 is available at a bargain price of £1:99 from the usual Mainstream outlets. |
