CD 1 Review by Irfan
After 3 successive top 10 smash hits Raghav is back with his latest single 'Lets Work It Out' ahead of his solo album called Storyteller.
Lets Work It Out kicks off with a sample from 'Leke Pahla Pahla Pyar' with the vocals courtesy of the legendary Asha Bosle from the Bollywood movie 'C.I.D' from back in the day. Then the man of the moment Raghav is on hand to provide some top-notch vocals in his usual style. The track rotates between Raghav and the sample which has been superbly mixed by producer extraordinaire Mushtaq. For good measure Jahaziel of Solid Rock raps on it which has the effect of adding an extra dimension to the mix. The scintillating fusion between the sample, Raghav's vocals and Jahaziel rapping is quite breathtaking. The best way to describe this tune is simple amazing and it's destined to be an anthem for a long time to come. If anyone still doubts this man's class then in my view they are ignorant to real talent and trust me this isn't no phase; Raghav has the skills and the backing to dominate the music industry for a long time to come.
Track 2 or Side B, whatever you want to call it is Teri Baaton (Your Words). The diehard Raghav fans will remember this tune as the first tune to get radio airplay to from the Canadian singing sensation. Now it's been revamped by Sly & Robbie being behind the production on this one. It's entirely sung in Hindi by Raghav, which just shows the genius of the guy, as the ability to sing in two different languages so naturally is a rarity. The mesmerizing feel of this one is enough to put you on cloud ten (nine not deemed high enough!). The music, lyrics and vocals combined are so soothing it will put you into an lengthy daydream p.s. it should come with a advisory warning 'Do not listen to this while driving as it will cause a sleepy effect.' Now I don't mean that in a bad way at all if you get what I mean. Raghav's vocals are tested as much as they have been to date and he doesn't just pass with flying colours but he just totally kills it.
The single is out now with CD1 retailing at a mere £1:99, which is a bargain even for the even the 'kunjouse maki jouse' people amongst us. It's available in 4 different formats including a DVD with sales of CD1 & CD2 (featuring 5 different remixes) determining chart position; so come on boys and girls lets all buy them both!
